The Original All-American and Walker are expected to have fewer episodes in this upcoming season. The series was never designed to be profitable while under its previous owners, CBS and Warner Bros so this attempt by Nexstar is a change for the network. The CW is now owned by Nexstar, and Nexstar is looking to shorten season lengths and decrease costs in an attempt to make the CW profitable by the year 2025. While the CW has produced several DC shows like The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl, Gotham Knights has reportedly the lowest production costs of any of their DC shows. Like Superman & Lois, Gotham Knights is based on characters from DC comics. It has not been renewed for a second season. Gotham Knights will air the last two episodes of its first and final season on June 20 and June 27. Homecoming is getting a shorter run of episodes for its upcoming season, decreasing from fifteen episodes to thirteen episodes.
